Ambassador Li Chao meets with Mayor of Tallinn

On 27 March 2018, the Chinese Ambassador to Estonia H.E. Mr. Li Chao paid a courtesy call on the Mayor of Tallinn Mr. Taavi Aas and exchanged views on developing stronger cooperation between the Estonian capital city and cities in China.

The Ambassador spoke positively on the cooperation between Tallinn city government and the local authorities of Beijing, Chengdu, Hangzhou and other Chinese cities over the years. He appreciated the active participation of Tallinn in various events organized within the format of 16+1 Cooperation, a framework involves China and 16 Central and Eastern European countries. "I hope that the mutually beneficial cooperation between Tallinn and cities in China will deliver more tangible results in future", the Ambassador noted.

The Mayor of Tallinn expressed his satisfaction on the cooperation with cities in China. He agreed with the Ambassador that 16+1 Cooperation has provided added value and a platform for closer local cooperation among participating local authorities. "Tallinn is ready to develop stronger cooperation with our partner cities in China", said the Mayor.
