Ambassador Li Chao calls upon Estonian Prime Minister Jüri Ratas

On 14 March 2018, the Chinese Ambassador to Estonia H.E. Mr. Li Chao paid a courtesy call on the Estonian Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Jüri Ratas at Stenbock House in Tallinn.

The Ambassador conveyed to the Prime Minister the warm greetings and best wishes from the Chinese Premier H.E. Mr. Li Keqiang. He also congratulated the Prime Minister on the Estonian centenary this year. The Ambassador spoke positively of the friendly relationship between China and Estonia. “Our relationship is in the best period in recent years. We have deepened our mutual trust, increased high-level contacts, strengthened mutually beneficial cooperation in many fields and our people-to-people exchanges have been very active,”said the Ambassador.“Based upon the principle of equality, mutual respect and win-win cooperation, China is ready to further strengthen our relations with Estonia and bring our mutually beneficial cooperation to the next level, which can bring greater benefits to our two countries and two peoples,” the Ambassador added.

Prime Minister Ratas welcomed the Ambassador to Estonia and requested him to forward his best wishes to the Chinese Premier. The Prime Minister said China is an important partner of Estonia and he is satisfied with the good momentum of the bilateral relationship. “Estonia looks forward to enhancing the cooperation with China at bilateral level and within the 16+1 format,”the Prime Minister said,“We will also participate actively in China’s Belt and Road Initiative especially in the fields of digital and e-commerce cooperation”.
