Ambassador Qu Zhe pays a farewell call on Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid

On 13th December, the Chinese Ambassador to Estonia Mr. Qu Zhe paid a farewell call on the Estonian President H.E. Mme. Kersti Kaljulaid.

The Ambassador gave a brief overview of bilateral relations between China and Estonia in recent years. He was satisfied that the mutually beneficial cooperation has yielded many positive results in various fields. The Ambassador appreciated Estonia’s active participation in “16+1” Cooperation and the Belt and Road Initiative. He hoped both countries will join forces to implement the agreements signed during the 6th Meeting of the Heads of Government of China and CEEC in Hungary last November and bring the win-win cooperation to the next level. The Ambassador took the opportunity to thank the President for her support to China-Estonia relationship. He also congratulated the President on the successful Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

President Kaljulaid spoke positively of the relationship between Estonia and China. She stressed that Estonia attaches great importance to the friendly relationship with China. The President also said Estonia is ready to strengthen cooperation with China both at bilateral level and within “16+1” format as well as the Belt and Road Initiative.

Both sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues with common interest.
